Polygon and DDCNY Conclude a Successful Trade Event in New York

Polygon, a company of mdf commerce, and Diamond Dealers Club New York, member of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, concluded a successful trading event last Monday, October 28. Close to 150 members of both organizations attended to trade and network at the DDC offices in the heart of New York’s Diamond District.

Highlights

The trading day attracted close to 150 members with all 75 vendor tables sold out. The event was open only to active, vetted members of Polygon and/or DDCNY/World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), ensuring security and fostering trust and transparency.
Polygon members had a unique opportunity to get an insider’s view on the most important diamond market in the continent, and the largest and oldest organization active in the US diamond trade.

“Being a part of an event in the club was a highlight of my over 30 years in the jewelry business,” said Sherry Frantz, owner of Frantz Diamonds & Jewelry. “I would love to make this an annual thing!”

Many attendees shared positive feedback.

“It was an incredible time,” said Jeff Hess, owner of Hess Fine Art & Jewels and sponsor of the event.

“Good business and fun people.” For DDC members, the trading day was an opportunity to meet new people, expand business opportunities, and buy and sell goods. Michael Shabitai, owner of Diamond Book in New York and member of both Polygon and DDC said that he “had the opportunity to meet new clients” and that he made many new contacts.

“For me, it was of immense value.” Likewise, Jay Moskovitz, a member of both organizations said that there were “great trading opportunities,” and that it was a “great show with great networking as well as sales.”

Items bought and sold included loose diamonds, estate/antique, finished jewelry, watches and colored stones. Partnering to Build Value The event was the first step in a partnership for Polygon and DDCNY. The fit makes sense for both groups, each of whom are always looking for new ways to bring value to their members. Whereas DDC members are mainly diamond wholesalers, Polygon is a retailer-focused organization whose members include retail jewelers, pawnbrokers, wholesalers and other jewelry businesses. Vetting is required of members of both organizations and membership is open to jewelry business professionals in good standing.

“We are extremely pleased with the first co-hosted event between our two groups,” says Sean Lemire, General Director of Polygon. “We believe in building bridges with solid, reputable organizations like DDCNY to create value for our members.” “We look forward to what’s ahead,” says Adam Small, Managing Director/General Counsel at DDCNY.

Richard Wasserman of Wasserman Jewel Galleries – a long time member of both organizations and sponsor – spearheaded the idea and brought the two organizations together. He was also involved in planning and a sponsor of the event. “This exceptional collaboration resulted in a tremendously successful day!,” said Richard. “We are fortunate to work with so many wonderful people who bring experience, expertise and trust to our business.” What’s Ahead With the holiday retail season ramping up, and many factors like pricing and demand having a profound impact on our industry, it’s the right time to become a part of a strong business community.

Joining groups like the DDCNY and Polygon help connect you with other trusted jewelry professionals, gain knowledge, and trade within a vetted network. Polygon and DDCNY look forward to future collaboration as part of an ongoing partnership. Polygon’s next event – their annual Jewelers Conclave & Show – will take place in the Spring of 2025. The 2-day event features seminars, round tables, networking, a dinner event and a day of trading. Sign Up to Get More Info on Events & Get on the Early Bird List>>
