CEO of Polygon Speaks to Fortunoff Management & Sales Staff
Dillon, Colorado - November 30, 2005 — Jacques Voorhees, President/CEO of Polygon, the jewelry industry's leading Internet marketplace spoke to a full room of Fortunoff employees on how to get the competitive edge over the Internet e-tailer this holiday season. Voorhees who presented a similar presentation at the Couture Diamond Conference this year was asked personally by Esther Fortunoff to speak to her staff on this increasingly critical issue facing all bricks & mortar retail stores in today's world.
"As the founder of Polygon, and perhaps the 'father' of online trading in the jewelry industry, Jacques Voorhees brings his unique perspective to a crucial question: how can bricks and mortar stores position themselves to effectively compete against Internet e-tailers?," said Esther Fortunoff, Senior Vice President for the world-famous jewelry superstore that carries her name. "At Fortunoff, we know the key is to stress value, not just price. Jacques introduced to our team some very powerful and intriguing ways of conveying this message to the consumer. It's a presentation I think every salesperson and manager in retail jewelry should hear. The techniques he shared will be part of our presentations this holiday season."
