Frequently Asked Questions: Polygon Membership
Q: How is Polygon priced? What does it cost to join?
A: Polygon is a membership-based organization. Polygon provides flexible subscription options to retailers, wholesalers, dealers, manufacturers, and other professionals in the jewelry industry. With your subscription, you have unlimited, unrestricted use of the Polygon network. Other than the membership fees, there are no usage fees, no commissions, no transaction fees, nothing. The subscription fee is a small budget item that can generate more cash for you than any other resource in your company. However, like any tool, it only makes you money when you use it!

Q: Who is on Polygon? Is it open to the general public?
A: Polygon is not open to the public. It is strictly a business-to business network for the jewelry industry. Members are screened for both trade status and credit worthiness. When a company applies for Polygon membership, their name is broadcast to the full membership base to obtain information from those who might know them and to check for possible credit problems. Polygon members include retail jewelry stores, Diamond Trading Company Siteholders, AGS guild stores, colored stone dealers, finished jewelry manufacturers/wholesalers, refiners, estate jewelry specialists, appraisers, and just about anyone else professionally involved in the jewelry industry.
Q: What are the criteria for Polygon membership?
A: It's very simple. There are only two:
- You have to be a duly-constituted business entity, with 50% or more of your business involved with the jewelry industry.
- You have to be in good standing within the jewelry industry
Q: What is the application approval process?
A: To verify that your company is involved in the jewelry industry, Polygon requires a combination of the following trade credentials:
- Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT) rating of 3 or better
- Website address
- Business license
- Resale Tax ID Certificate
- 3 Trade Invoices
- References (prefer current Polygon Member)
After a complete application is received, your company will be contacted by Polygon with a username and password to access the network. Your company will be identified as "pending" for 3 business days, or until you can be approved for membership. Upon approval, your company will be identified with your company name.
